A Meteor falling on the earth near lake Chebarkul in Chelyabinsk region made a 6m hole. A fragment of meteor was studied by the Army units. The study showed that radiation level doesn’t exceed the normal index. There are 3 sites where the fragment was found. Read the rest of this entry »

A climber was rescued after falling from mount Elbrrus which is 4800 m above the sea level.
Rescuers found a polish climber on mount Elbrrus. He fell from the rock but survived.

On Sunday the world’s largest crocodile died at the city Zoo Bunavan, Philippines. Crocodile’s nickname was Lolongi and it was in the Guinness world records as the largest crocodile in the world. Its length was-6.17 meters, and weight exceeded a ton.
According to the City Mayor Edwin Cox Elorde Lolongi was more than 50 years old, and his death could be caused by the unusually cold weather of the region. The crocodile was caught in 2011 during three-week hunt when it was suspected that the reptile attacked the locals. At least one person is known to be its victim. One of the historical-geographical regions of old Tbilisi Leghvtakhevi, Dabakhana, Dabaghkhana, was situated in the south part of the city. Today Krtsanisi region is located in the territory (A botanical garden was included in the area). Due to many fig trees the beautiful place was called Leghvtakhevi (leghvi-fig). Gudauri mountain ski resort is located on the south slope of the Caucasus Mountains. The trip from Tbilisi to Gudauri takes two hours. Ski season lasts from winter to spring.
In 1988 the first ski lift was built and after that the resort developed little by little. There are five ski lifts and many ski routs in Gudauri. Nearly 16 km length rout works from 10.00 to 17.00 o’clock. Gudauri is recognized as a significant mountain-skiing resort. It has the most comfortable and technically developed infrastructure. Despite high prices Gudauri has many foreign visitors as well as locals. The slopes of Gudauri are completed above the tree line. The ski lifts are built by Austrian company Doppelmayr. . There are five lifts- three chairs lift, four chairs lift, five chairs lift and one Gondola. Gudauri contains several routs. Between January 30 and February 3, 2013 the National Administration of Tourism participated in the International fair exhibition “FITUR 2013” in Madrid, Spain. It was one of the biggest exhibitions in the world. 10 644 companies from 166 countries took part in it. 7,532 journalists attended the event and nearly 124 700 visitors visit the exhibition. Caucasus Travel, Visit Georgia, Georgian Discovery Tours, Georgica Travel, Explore Georgia and the Agency of protected areas of Georgia took part with the National tourism administration. Hatsvali is situated 8 km from Mestia. The road goes through pine forest. It has the potential to become the most favorable winter tourism destination in Georgia.
