Between January 30 and February 3, 2013 the National Administration of Tourism participated in the International fair exhibition “FITUR 2013” in Madrid, Spain. It was one of the biggest exhibitions in the world. 10 644 companies from 166 countries took part in it. 7,532 journalists attended the event and nearly 124 700 visitors visit the exhibition. Caucasus Travel, Visit Georgia, Georgian Discovery Tours, Georgica Travel, Explore Georgia and the Agency of protected areas of Georgia took part with the National tourism administration. According to the statistics, from 2011 to 2012 the number of tourists from Spain grew with 12%.
In the framework of FITOUR 2013 -from February 2 to February 5 Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili visited Madrid. He was invited by Talib Ripais Secretary- General of the World Tourism Organization (UN WTO). He met the Secretary -General to discuss future plans of cooperation and new projects.
In the framework of visit Dimitry Kumsiashvili met officials from different countries.
